Family friendly hikes under the midnight sun

Springtime starts earlier on the southern part of Senja, meaning you can start summerhiking here much earlier than in other parts of the island.
Here are our three recommended hikes nearby our lodge.

DRONNINGRUTA - The Queens Route
This is known as a hike that you can start hiking quite early in the summerseason. It is a great hike in a historic landscape with amazing view of many of the islands south in Troms county. Please note that the hike is in a Stongodden nature preserved area and freerange farm animals grass here. Easy access. Bring your lunch and beverage and have a break at one of the many small beaches along the hike. And just enjoy the very beautiful nature.
Duration 2-4 hours.
Senja Arctic Lodge can provide service for bringing you to/from start-/ stop point at Ryvoll or Hofsøy.

STANGNESFJELLET 301moh
Straight from our cabins in Senja Arctic Lodge you can do the hike to Mt Stangnes. The hike is around 40 minutes and gives you an amazing view in all directions. The top is great for watching the midnight sun and sunsets or even the Aurora from September to April.
Duration 2-3 hours.

LEIRPOLLFJELLET 249moh
Easy and family friendly hike in easy terrain on a good hiking trail. The hike gives you great view over the many islands surrounding the southern part of Senja, and all the way in to Vesterålen.
Duration 2-3 hours.

AFTER HIKE
Reward your self with sauna, jacuzzi, barbeque hut after your adventure. You can book this at Senja Arctic Lodge or you can book accomodation, park your campervan, tent or book glamping for 2 persons.
